Pair of "Kaminstolen" or "The Fire place chair" designed by Fredrik Kayser & Adolf Relling . Produced in Norway ca 1950 by Arnestad Bruk. Made from solid teak. Reupholstered in Hallingdal wool fabric by Kvadrat Textiles. Very good condition with few signs of age related wear and patina.
The first version of the Kaminstol was designed in 1946. Several changes were made to the design during the years up until 1958 when Rastad & Relling designed a new version of the chair for Dokka Møbler to produce. This pair ca 1950 produced by Arnestad Bruk.
