Early example of the model 83 dining table designed by Alvar Aalto. Produced in Turku, Finland by Huonekalu-ja Rakennustyötehdas during the 1930s. Signed with stamp Aalto design Made in Finland. Made from solid birch and laminated birch. Good vintage condition with age related wear and patina. Scratches, scuffs and other marks all over the table. preserved good original condition.
The table previously belonged to prominent modernist architect Sture Frölén. Frölén had personal contacts with Alvar Aalto and was the first and sole distributor of Aaltos furniture in Sweden during the 1930s.
