Lounge chair attributed to Danish designer Ole Wanscher. Likely produced by Jacob Kjaer. Frame made from solid mahogany with excellent quality in crafts execution. Seat in black lustrous horse hair fabric in black. Wanscher as a pupil of Kaare Klint made the transition into modern furniture design with deep connections to older furniture styles and historic pieces. This chair highly influenced by English Chippendale furniture bears the resemblance to several models designed and documented by Wanscher/Kjaer in the collection of Danish furniture Museum.
