Oil painting on board by Swedish artist Werner Jansson. Made in 1960. Signed with Werner Jansson hallmark "W" and year 60 (1960). Abstract geometric composition in black, grey and white. Janssons use of relief in his paint accentuates the transitions between the different coloured figures creating a striking visual clarity in the geometry. Very good vintage condition with few signs of age related wear and patina.
The painting is framed in pine done in the traditional Japanese wood treatment technique "Yaki Sugi", where the wood is scorched with fire to become black before being treated.
