A very rare extra large "Christiania" dining table designed by Alf Sture. Produced by Hiort & Østlyngen in Norway during the 1950s. Made entirely from solid Norwegian pine. A powerful design, drawing inspiration from traditional "Allmoge", rural peasant furniture, but with modern refinement and aesthetics. The tables most exceptional feature is the solid book matched table top with a rorschach like pattern. Originally made for Norwegian mountain cabins and as so called "sportstuge-furniture". Very good vintage condition with few signs of wear and patina.
